Brian's overall condition improved yesterday. Alyssa and I drove home and slept in our own bed last night because, as the nurse said, Brian was in a better place than he was Wednesday night. His blood pressure is at an acceptable level, pulmonary hypertension is under control and his potassium level is right where it should be so his kidneys are functioning properly. The doctors also pay close attention to blood gas which is a number that seems to fluctuate often. His blood gas had dropped after his surgery but with a little adjustment to the ventilator it went right back up. We called this morning to find nothing really changed over night. We are on our way back to the hospital in a little while.

ReplyDeleteSounds like he's working on getting back to being boring (and you know what I mean!)
ReplyDeleteIt is so very wonderful to read your positive reports on your precious blessing. We rejoice with you! We pray loving Father God that precious baby Brian continues to be strengthened daily from the inside out, that his healing progresses steadily, and that You bless these compassionate doctors and nurses with continued direction. Many hearts rejoice that You have given him Your breath of life.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking time to post these updates for everyone, which is so thoughtful of you since your attention needs to be elsewhere. Please know it helps us to pray more precisely as well. You are blessed and very loved.
Each day we watch and pray that this precious angel continue to improve. He is our first thought when we awake and our last when we sleep. Corey and Alyssa we can not even express how impressed we are with your courage and strength. Know we are sending you and Johnny and Brian huge hugs. In our prayers always.
