Brian had a great weekend! I guess the docs cant wait 5 days to do another x-ray on his lungs, hes had one everyday since the first injection of Perflubron. I called this morning to check on Brian and the nurse said that the results are "rather remarkable". I stared crying, i was not expecting that at all. When we got to the hospital we saw the x-rays and they pulled up yesterdays and today's so we could compare them. The right lung just keeps getting bigger and the left lung which was so small to begin with looks awesome.
Although this is great news, this journey is just beginning. He still needs to be able to breath on his own once hes taken off ECMO. His lungs still have a long way to go.
We are taking this all one day at a time, and praying like crazy.

We are now settled in at our temporary apartment which is less then 5 minutes away from the hospital. Corey says its walking distance but I say he can drop me off at the door! We don't have internet access there so we have to bring the computer to the hospital.

Thanks again for all the prayers and comments!!!!! :)

  1. Alyssa&Corey, I'm so glad that you're receiving such positive news so early in this journey. This proves how many angels are watching over Brian and all of you for that matter. I'm sure all the prayers and good wishes are also helping. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  2. Family life is full of major and minor crises -- the ups and downs of health, success and failure in career, marriage, and divorce -- and all kinds of characters. It is tied to places and events and histories. With all of these felt details, life etches itself into memory and personality. It's difficult to imagine anything more nourishing to the soul.

  4. Dear Brian, when you were born you moved into our hearts right next to your brother Johnny and your Uncle James. We eagerly look forward to holding you in our arms very soon. Until then this is our constant prayer for you, little Brian James,
    Every day, awake, asleep
    Fourteen angels watch do keep--
    Two your head are guarding,
    Two your feet are guiding,
Two are on your right hand,
Two are on your left hand,
    Two who warmly cover,
    Two who o'er you hover,
    Two to whom is given
To guide your steps one day to heaven.

    We love you dearly, Brian,
