So today Brian decided he was ready to be taken off ECMO...... for a few hours at least for a trial run. The ECMO tubes were clamped and he was on a ventilator for over 2 hours. The only reason hes back on the ECMO machine is Dr. M wanted to make sure all the Perflubron has evaporated completely from his lungs. He did so good just on the vent that all the Dr's. and nurses were so surprised and saying "this isnt normal". They have never seen such a severe case of CDH come off ECMO so fast, even if its a trial. I got to see his chest moving up and down and i just started crying.
Sorry its been awhile since our last update, trust me I'm getting yelled at!!!
