As I write this blog there is a very nice man playing soothing music on his guitar at Brian's bedside. He's played for Brian a few times. He played for Brian last week after his last failed trial off ECMO. I think Brian is enjoying the music, Alyssa and I sure are.

Brian has been very stubborn. The doctors were forced to adjust his jet vent up to as high as 28 at one point last night. He's back down to 25 for now. They may need to tweak again after his next blood gas in a little while. Beth (one of Brian's favorite nurses) also mentioned his white blood cell count is up a little which could mean he's still dealing with infection.

We will be leaving the hospital a little earlier this afternoon. Alyssa's has family in town from Minnesota and South Dakota to celebrate her dad's birthday today.
