Brian is doing well. We still haven't found out the source of his infection from earlier this week. We get the impression the cultures are no longer a priority because the antibiotics did the trick. In fact, for now Brian is no longer on any antibiotics. We just pray he doesn't develop another infection before the doctors are able to fix his leak. The doctors are trying again to slowly wean him off the jet vent. He is at a setting of 21. There goal is to get Brian comfortable at a setting of 20 before they try to turn the jet vent off completely. The doctors had weaned him to 20 a few days ago. Brian couldn't handle it and the doctors were forced to increase back up to 24.

Brian is still very swollen but he looks much better today.
