From Corey's Mom
Corey asked me to update the blog on his and Alyssa's behalf. They are camping with friends at Groveland Oaks without internet access. He and Alyssa are commuting everyday from their campsite to Ann Arbor but were unable to post on the blog at the hospital today.
Brian remains stable day two after surgery. His color is good and he rests comfortably. He was put back on the jet vent as the doctors expected he might have to be. They anticipate that Brian will be off the jet vent by Sunday. His MRI has been postponed because it couldn't be done while on the jet vent. But it has been determined that the fluid leak that was fixed in surgery has NOT redirected to his left lung.
A while back the doctors suspected that Brian might have a clot in an artery in his neck. This is indeed the case. A shunt is not being considered at this time; rather a medication has been started that will keep the platelets from gathering around the clot. The doctors are not terribly concerned about this situation at this time.
